How to become an SpLD assessor with ÂìÒϵ¼º½accreditation
To become an assessor for either dyslexia or dyscalculia who holds AMBDA, you need to complete a relevant postgraduate (Level 7) AMÂìÒϵ¼º½accredited course. On completing an AMÂìÒϵ¼º½accredited course you can apply for AMBDA/AMÂìÒϵ¼º½FE-HE/AMÂìÒϵ¼º½dyscalculia and an APC with the ÂìÒϵ¼º½within three years of your end date.
AMBDA/AMÂìÒϵ¼º½FE-HE/AMÂìÒϵ¼º½dyscalculia are ÂìÒϵ¼º½accreditations which recognise the assessor’s skills in both specialist teaching and assessment.
An APC is a certificate that recognises achievement at postgraduate level and the individual’s ongoing commitment to CPD. The criteria for submitting and renewing an APC is overseen by SASC:
AMBDA/AMÂìÒϵ¼º½FE-HE/AMÂìÒϵ¼º½dyscalculia/ AMÂìÒϵ¼º½dyscalculia FE/HE and an APC need to be renewed every three years to keep them current. Professional members of the ÂìÒϵ¼º½with an AMÂìÒϵ¼º½accreditation can renew their APC and AMÂìÒϵ¼º½together. As you will need to hold professional membership to hold your APC with us, your AMÂìÒϵ¼º½CPD would be reviewed for free, as it is for all those with ÂìÒϵ¼º½professional membership. Holders of an APC issued by the ÂìÒϵ¼º½are required to hold ÂìÒϵ¼º½Professional Membership for the duration of their APC.
